Freshers Event

Our hands-on workshops are designed to provide practical experience. Key workshops include:

  • Essential surgical skills: A workshop on handling of surgical instruments, suturing and knot typing.

  • ICP management: A workshop on intracranial pressure monitoring and management and hands-on external ventricular drainage (EVD) insertion practice.

  • Spinal Fixation Workshop: Training on techniques for spinal fixation.

  • Craniotomy Workshop: A practical session on performing craniotomy procedures.

As Freshers week is approaching, our society is excited to meet all freshers and discuss our exciting plans for this year. We have workshops planned in collaboration with the Edinburgh Student Surgical Society (ESSS) that will provide you an introduction to neurosurgery and essential surgical skills.

We will also be holding a freshers stall on the 18th September at Suttie Centre, the University of Aberdeen.

The Scottish Universities Neurological Society is formed by a group of students interested in promoting and providing more opportunities in clinical neurosciences...
